Our values are what guide and direct our decision making process here at OSLC

  • Value #1: Equity + Inclusion

    Value #1: Equity and Access

As a board made up of primarily queer, trans, working class, and disabled Leather folks, we want to ensure that we prioritize eliminating physical, social, and economic barriers that have kept members of our communities from feeling welcome or considered in our play spaces, contests, and other events. This for us as a board means welcoming and making intentional spaces for people of color, trans and gender expansive individuals, and people with disabilites.

We want to see a much broader representation in all realms of our fetish and Leather lives, and truly welcome feedback on how we can do it even better.

    * The phrase "targeted identities" is used intentionally instead of the phrase "marginalized identities" to honor the histories of targeted communities. To learn more about this shift in language, check out the work of The UPRISE Collective.

  • Value #2 Legacy

In 2022 the Oregon State Leather Contest turned 25! We have a long and storied history that we think is important to preserve for our future generations of Leather folk.

We are also excited for the future and the ways in which the Oregon State Leather Contest and its titles can still benefit our community by providing financial support and educational resources to people in our state and beyond!

  • Value #3 Service

Service is at the heart of Leather community, our contests, and events. We as an organization exist partially to provide ways for people to “plug in”. We also are an entirely volunteer crew, from the Board of Directors to everyone that pitches in to make our events amazing, we honor that service while encouraging everyone to help carry the load.

  • Value #4 Integrity

At OSLC we commit to transparent processes and documentation around stewarding financial and material resources safely and responsibly.

Our documentation including treasurer reports, IRS documentation, and other forms of accountability documents are avaiable upon request to our board Secretary at Secretary@OSLcontest.org

  • Value #5 Play

When we say “Play” what we mean is that we are committed to creating events and hosting a yearly leather pride week and contest focused and centered around educational and experiential learning.

It also means that while we take all we do here at OSLC seriously, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We invite the spirit of joy in our leather and kink expression!
